Vth Science Week at the EIC
The EIC held this Special Week from 14th to 18th November, the second Special Week of the year, Vth Science Week. Students, teachers and families participated in the activities planned in the different parts of the school.
Preschool, discovered the properties of materials: strength, flexibility, transparency, texture ... through experimentation. From these workshops we made Christmas cards, magnets, bread, printing on clothes ... with the participation of families.
Primary pupils planted seeds of various kinds, not just in soil, but also in other types of bedding; we did scientific experiments
in the "big" laboratory with ESO 3 using materials such as wood, salt dough and drink cartons and produced decorative items, nesting houses for hanging in the yard, purses, - reusing and recycling materials.
The older primary children had the opportunity to hear talks from families about recycling and reuse of drink cartons, in the intermediate cycle families helped to make fossils and in the initial cycle parents came to explain the process of planting seeds.
Meanwhile, the four secondary school levels (ESO) worked on a business project. Each student belonged to one of the three companies that was formed and took orders for products that they manufactured in ESO 1, 2 and 3. So Lego was turned into cuff links, toilet rolls made into napkin holders, pine cones into decorations for the Christmas tree, lolly sticks into decorations we also produced elegant wine glasses (for adults!). Students worked hard to sell these products for Christmas. The money raised will go to the TV3 Marathon, in aid of stroke and spinal cord injury, the EIC Student Council and the end of year trip for ESO4.
Finally, BAT students taught secondary students physics experiments in the laboratory and worked on various topics, including gravity, frequency and pressure.
A fifth Science and Technology Week full of energy and excitement!
Thank you all for your support !!!
