During this Sant Jordi’s week, there have been many activities in the School to promote reading. We received some visits from different authors of the books that we have been reading, and small theatre plays for the smallest ones. The first Literary Contest, addressed to the School’s student, was also held during that week.
On April, 22nd, we received the visit of Cardio, the SHE Foundation mascot, with whom we collaborate with in the Health SI program. This year, 2012-13 students from infantil started to work with it and could learn from Cardio, a very friendly heart that showed us how to take care of our cardiovascular system, with healthy eating habits, regular sport practice and emotional health.
On April 23rd, we celebrated Sant Jordi’s day. ESO students were selling roses and books. In the afternoon, we celebrated an event presented by author Núria Naval. During this event we were able to listen to different songs that students had prepared and enjoyed the EIC Literarty Contest awards ceremony.
On April 24th, the students from Cicle Inicial, were visited again by the author Núria Naval, who explained us how her last story “Revolució a la Biblioteca” was created. She told us that the main idea was taken from a personal experience that the author lived during her childhood in Barcelona. We enjoyed listening to her stories and we shared with her an amazing time talking about the art of reading, personal experiences and some questions about the writer’s profession.
To end the Sant Jordi’s week, on the 25th and 26th, we were able to enjoy some theatre plays. P3 students with “Les tres taronges de la Vida”, the students of P4 and P5 with “El tresor del drac Rebuf” and, finally the students from Primary 1, 2, and 3 with “Follet del Bosc”.
