Last Friday we celebrated Sant Jordi at our school. All pupils at every level did activities related to this traditional Catalan festival. Primary and ESO students created a garden, all with recycled materials, to promote sustainability, one of the pillars of EIC. In Art, children made different flowers, using everyone's creativity and with one common point: to use recycled materials and make the stem with sticks and paper.
The traditional book sale (50% new and 50% recycled) and rose sale also took place. The rose sale was thanks to APRODISCA, who was our provider. The money raised will go to the ESO 4 end of year trip. Besides this, theit association choir, formed by people with physical and mental disabilities, performed in the Forum, to the whole school on Friday afternoon.
In addition to these initiatives, every course in the school worked on the Sant Jordi theme with different activities such as reading stories from ESO 4 to PreSchool. For their part, Primary 5 created their own mini books and the youngest students dressed up as characters from well known stories.
Strangely, you may have noticed that our olive tree found its branches filled with poetry this week.
