More than 40 EIC students participate in the 36th Reus School Olympiad

More than 40 EIC students are participating this year in the 36th Reus School Olympiad, in both individual and team events. This is the second year that EIC has participated and this year we are represented in more disciplines than in 2017. Our  "Benjamin” (Primary 3 & 4) and "Alevin"(Primary 5 & 6) participate in mixed futsal, swimming, athletics, table tennis, chess, tennis, skating and family cross, a new event this year which will take place the last day, on April 29th. In this event, students will run with their families.

The School Olympiad opening ceremony took place on April 6th in the Pavelló Olímpic in Reus and our team captains joined in. Paula Ortiz was in charge of running with the water amphora of the Mediterranean Games of 2018, an event that will be celebrated this summer in Tarragona, along with the Olympic torch which toured the streets of Reus. Jana Pagès was preparing the opening ceremony with other leaders from different schools: the arrival of the Olympic flag, the arrival of the torch and the lighting of the Olympic flame, the athletes' oath and, finally, the dignitaries’ speeches.

Disciplines represented by our students are as follows:

·       Athletics. 60m: Jana Pagès, Paula Ortiz, Laia Gallés.

·       Athletics. 600m: Alan Romera, Álvaro Martínez, August Ripoll, Lucas Burj, Miquel Megías, Olivia Pérez, Pablo Heras, Pol Coll.

·       Athletics. Shot putt: August Ripoll.

·       Athletics. Long jump: Jana Pagès.

·       Athletics. Relay 4x60m: Jana Pagès, Laia Gallés, Paula Ortiz, Olivia Pérez, Álvaro Martínez, Pol Coll, Lucas Burj, Miquel Megías.

·       Swimming (front crawl, back, breaststroke, relay): Abril Vela, Paula Ortiz, Alan Romera, Pol Tarrats, Xia Beltrán.

·       Chess: August Ripoll, Lluc Vallvé, Vikentii Kriuchkov.

·     Futsal mixed Benjamin: Álvaro Martínez, August Ripoll, Carlos Lax, Eudald Estrada, Guillem Rofes, Hugo Ramos, Jaume Vives, Joan Mestre, Lluc Vallvé, Lucas Burj, Pablo Heras, Pol Tarrats, Xia Beltrán.

·       Futsal mixed Alevin: Álex Quesada, Aritz Bartolomé, David Amores, Emile-Artus Day, Jofre Martí, Leire Oliván, Xavier Martínez, Ignacio Valldosera.

·       Skating level 1 (superior): Xènia Gallés.

·       Tennis: Xavier Martínez, Samuel Balfour, Sergio García.

·       Table tennis: Lluc Vallvé.
