Grandparent week

For one week (from the 28th of September to the 2nd of October), grandfathers and grandmothers became the focus of attention in our school. The pupils from P1 to P6 worked on questions related to the time when their grandparents were children (the toys they played with, their school and their lives in general). The activities were carried out using the photographs that the grandfathers and grandmothers brought along and after listening to their anecdotes. The pupils enjoyed the company of the elderly folks who came to the EIC to explain anecdotes, tell stories and read together. The closing event for the Grandparent Week was held on the 1st of October, the International Day of Older People, and the grandparents were able to share an afternoon snack with their grandchildren in the school’s Forum. After some moving words by the pupils about their grandparents and some songs sung by Primary and Nursery pupils, there was the traditional afternoon snack with cake and chocolate.
