ESO4 students awarded to the 'Llegim Ciència' Award from the University of Vic!

More than 400 ESO3 and ESO4 students filled the UVic stage on Wednesday, February 21st, at the awards ceremony of the sixth edition of the Llegim Ciència Award. The event is organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT) of the University in the framework of the Science and Society programme, and aims to arouse the interest in the scientific literature among adolescents.

On this occasion, the competition proposed to the students a literary challenge from the reading of the novel Llampecs, by Jean Echenoz, inspired by the life of the electrical engineer from Servia Nikola Tesla (1856-1943), considered the inventor of the radio or of the asincronical electric motor among others. In total, 84 stories (29 in Category 1, of ESO3, and 55 in Category 2, of ESO4) have been presented from 15 Secondary Schools throughout Catalonia. In each category, in addition, the students could choose between two modalities, A and B: write an alternative end to the novel or answer the question: "What is the invention of Nikola Tesla that you consider most extraordinary?".

We want to congratulate to our students for their initiative and motivation Víctor Queralt, Daria Pivovarova, Jordi Salvadó and, especially, Paula Farràs who was awarded the 5th prize of Modality B. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!
