Last Thursday, April the 7th, EIC opened its doors to welcome 24 students from the Vila-seca Institute that, along with 7 other students from our school, all from ESO4 and Baccalaureate1 participated in the XXI edition of the Maths Competition CANGUR, 2016.
This competition is organized by the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques that belongs to the international association Le Kangourou sans frontières (KSF).
The main objective of this international association is to promote the culture of the Mathematics through different activities like the CANGUR Competition. This XXI edition has been celebrated simultaneously in the different participating countries to motivate the students and make Maths more popular among infants and the youth.
The test consisted of 30 questions in 5 periods of fifteen minutes each (10 questions of 3 points: 10 of 4; 10 of 5) taking into consideration that marks were deducted fro wrong answers. 150 points was the max. because they already had 30 points from the very beginning.
We will anxiously wait until the end of April to know the final results but we can already be very proud of our students: Alex Keyken, Joel Cases, Alex Navarro and Aleix Serra from ESO4 and Blanca Jofré, Marta Van Ginkel and Adrian Nenkov from BACC1.
CONGRATULATIONS!
