25 students from Sint-lodewijkscollege, Belgian school of the city of Brugge, landed on Wednesday, November 8, at the EIC to enjoy eight days of exchange with their classmates and their families.

As part of our International Programme to which our students have access throughout their academic career, the students of ESO4 conclude their exchange from November 8 to 15 with Sint-lodewijkscollege, a Belgian school in the city of Brugge.

It has been on the occasion of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development that the students of both schools have deepened in the analysis of tourism in the two cities Brugge and Salou (including Tarragona, Reus and Cambrils). The detail of its study has been based on the following five areas: Inclusive and sustainable economic growth, Social inclusion, work and reduction of poverty, Efficient use of resources, environmental protection and climate change, Cultural values, diversity and heritage and Understanding mutual, peace and security.

The collaborative work has been the fundamental axis of the success to obtain the results and to be able to compare, to draw conclusions and to dare to make a constructive criticism from the shared opinions and the initiatives and proposals raised like possible ways of solving. Both schools made a magnificent presentation to their families, Baccalaureate students, teachers, management team, with the presence of the Excm. Mayor of Salou, Mr. Enric Granados, Dr. Salvador Antón, Director of the Science and Technology Park for Tourism and Leisure at the Rovira i Virgili University, and Ms. Mercè Dalmau, Councilor for Tourism of the City Council of Cambrils.

In addition, the programme has been completed throughout the week with several cultural visits to Tarragona (Roman heritage, Cathedral, etc.), in Barcelona (Gaudí Route - Parc Güell, Sagrada Família - Plaça Catalunya, Ramblas and Maremagnum) A part from activities and day-to-day living and continuous enrichment with the different families.

The experience has been very successful and, surely, unforgettable. Let's take the opportunity to thank the families for their interest and the willingness shown from the moment we presented the project.
