The EIC Socràtics team, second prize in the Scientific Category, First Lego League

The Socràtics team from the Escola Internacional del Camp won the second prize in the Scientific Category of the First Lego League, an international competition aimed at primary and secondary students which took place on February 2nd in the Palau Firal i de Congressos, Tarragona. The EIC team was formed by 14 students from the four classes of ESO who have been working on a project in Technology lessons. This year’s theme was space voyages.

The Socràtics' mission was to improve the quality of astronauts’ life through their clothing, making their stay a little more enjoyable and comfortable.

To publicise its project, the team created a web page with the different parts of the competition and they created stickers with a QR code on the page so that the other participants could check it out (https://socraticsfll.wordpress.com/).

More than 300 students from different schools participated in this eighth edition of the First Lego League. There were 30 teams from 24 schools, in the competition for ages 10 to 16 years, and 22 teams from 8 schools in the competition for 6 to 9 years olds who competed, managing their excitement and presenting their projects.

Two teams will go to the national final which will take place in Tenerife in March. The first prize was for the Legomaster team, composed by participants from IES Roseta Mauri, and Roseta Explorers 2K19 won the second prize sponsored by Lear.
