The EIC Opens Sports Week

Last Friday Sports Week began at the Escola Internacional del Camp - one of the five special weeks which we celebrate throughout the year - with an Olympic style opening ceremony. There was a torch carried by students, the flame lit with an arrow, accompanied by music from the Barcelona’92 Olympics, Primary 2 dancing and the support of the entire EIC educational community: students, families and EIC staff.

During this week we will run sports activities in school, plus two events are scheduled during non school hours: the EIC Mile, a race which took place last Saturday and this year was the 5th edition, and the closing ceremony, which will take place on Friday May 26th.

In the EIC Mile 150 people ran a race, which for first year, included "small wheels". The four categories were: ESO and adults, senior Primary, junior Primary and Pre School. There were refreshments for the participants who finished the race and we provided a refreshment service, physiotherapy and electrosmassage. The day was enlivened by the Nou Estil Salou dance school with two performances, with participation of EIC students. Finally, EIC Headteacher, Jonathan Day, accompanied by Salou Councillors & Jaume Vilella, Director General of the Foundation, were commissioned to distribute trophies to the winners.
